UVETROPINE
INJECATBLE SOLUTION
Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
Atropin Sulphate 1 mg
Atropin Sulphate 1 mg
Properties:
Atropine is a tertiary amine alkaloid which has peripheral and central antimuscarinic effects. It first stimulates and then depresses the CNS, and has anti-spasmodic effects on smooth muscle. Atropine depresses the vagus, thereby increasing the heart rate, and is used in anaesthesia pre-medication regimens to diminish the risk of vagal inhibition and to reduce salivary and bronchial secretions. It is used in the treatment or management of bradycardia and asystole.
Atropine and other antimuscarinic drugs prevent the muscarinic side-effects of anticholinesterases, which are used to reverse the effects of non-depolarising neuromuscular blocking agents.
Indications:
Uvetropin is an antidote for organophosphorus poisoning and co-therapy in diarrhea by reducing peristalsis movement.
It is also used for the reduction of gastric hyper-motility, salivary and bronchial secretions, prevention of cholinergic effects on the heart.
Warnings:
