Enrofloxacin is one of the second-generation quinolones with extended antibacterial activity not only against gram positive and gram negative bacteria, but also against mycoplasma. It is well absorbed and distributed after oral and parenteral dosing. Enrofloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA-gyrase, leading to a reduction in supercoiling and serious disruption of the spatial arrangement of DNA.
Activity :
Uvetril has a wide spectrum ac-tion which enable it to be used in single and mixed bacterial infections as well as against mycoplasmosis.
Indications:
Uvetril is anti-infective agent for the therapy and prophylaxis of infectious diseases caused by gram-positive and gram- negative bacteria as well as Mycoplasma and Chlamydia.
Dosage and administration:
Poultry : 100 ml / 200 liters of drink-ing water for 3 days except for salmonellosis treat for 5 days.
Large animals : (use with drinking water).
1 ml/20 kg body weight for 1 day then use 0.5 ml/20 kg body weight for further 4 - 5 days.
Withdrawal period:
Do not slaughter animals for human consumption before at least 7 days for large animals and 4 days for poultry from the last treatment.
Storage:
Store at a temperature below 30°C, in a dark place .
