Tetramisole the active ingredient of uvetrasole is an Imidazothiazole anthelmintic effective against adult and larval gastrointestinal roundworms and lungworms . The mode of action of tetramisole is to immobilize worms, it is an acetylcholine agonist.
Indications:
For the treatment of all types of infections caused by nematodes gastrointestinal infestations and lung worms infestations in large animals. Uvetrasole is used also in poultry for control of all types of infections caused by Ascaridia, Capillaria and Heterakis infestations.
Dosage and administration:
Large animals: 1.5 gm / 10 kg of B.W to be mixed well in feed. Poultry: 500-1200 gm / 200 L of drinking water for two days.
Withdrawal period:
Animals should not be slaughtered within 7- 8 days from the last treatment. Eggs : should not be consumed during 5 days from the last treatment.
