Bromhexine act as mucolytic expectorant, which is of value in achieving liquefaction and improving the flow characteristics of mucus.
Indications:
Uve-hexin 1% is indicated in cases of respiratory infections which are accompanied by an increase in viscidity of the mucus and other animals.
In Cattle and Horses it is recommended in cases of bronchopneumonia.
Uve-hexin is safe when used in combination with antimicrobials.
Withdrawal Period:
Cattle: one day poultry: 8 hours
Bromhexine is entirely safe, it is extensively metabolized and eliminated, but milk and eggs from treated animals should not be used for human consumption.
Dosage and administration:
Poultry: 1 ml/4 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days. Cattle: 1 ml/20 kg b.wt for 5-7 days. Horses : 0.5 - 1.25 ml /50 kg. b.w for 5-7 days.
