Uvefenicol
Composition:
Each 1ml Contains:
Florfenicol 300 mg
Properties:
Florfenicol is a derivative of thiamphenicol. Its bacteriostatic action inhibits protein synthesis by binding to ribosomal subunits of susceptible bacteria leading to inhibition of protein formation.
Indications:
Uvefenicol is indicated for the treatment of respiratory, gastro –intestinal and urogenital tract infections in animals (Cattle, Calves, Sheep, and Goats) Florfenicol is particularly active against Salmonella spp. Pasteurella spp, Klebsiella pneumonia and Chlamydia app.
Dosage and administration:
- Uvefenicol is administered by I.M (in the neck) at a dose rate of 20mg / kg (3ml / 45kg b.wt) 48 hours later a second dose is administered.
- Uvefenicol also can be used as one injection regimen by a single subcutaneous inj. (in the neck) at a dose rate of 40 mg / Kg (6ml / 45kg b.wt)
Notes :
- Do not administer more than 10ml at each site
- The injection site should be only in the neck
Withdrawal period:
Slaughter after 28 days after last I.M treatment.
Slaughter after 38 days after last S.C treatment.
Storage:
Store at temp below 30º C, protected from light .
