Each 1 ml contains:
Sulphadimidine Sodium ….. 333 mg
Sulphadimidine is one of Sulphonamides which play an important role as effective chemotherapeutics against bacterial and protozoal diseases in veterinary medicine.
In low therapeutic concentrations sulphonamides are bacteriostatics, but in high concentrations may be bactericidal.
The sulphonamides compete with p-aminobenzoic acid and prevent its normal cellular utilization, particularly its incorporation into folic acid.
The popularity of sulphadimidine comes from its real good solubility of both the parent drug and its metabolites, which reduces the possibility of crystalluria.
Treatment of bacterial infections as Septicaemia, Pneumonia and enteritis, Necrotic enteritis and coccidiosis in sheep and goat.
