Doxycycline 50%
Each 1 gm contains :
Doxycycline hydrochloride 500 mg
Doxycycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic with bacteriostatic action against many gram positive and gram negative organisms such as: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Haemophilus influenza, E.coli, clostridium tetani,listeria,salmonella spp., as well as mycoplasma,Chlamydia and rickettsia.
Doxycycline belong to tetracycline group and has advantage over the older tetracycline of longer serum half-life due to the slow excretion and the enhanced oral absoription.
Treatment and control of complicated chronic respiratory disease (CRD - Complex), E. Coli, Salmonella and Pasteurella infections. Infectious synovitis and sinusitis caused by mycoplasma spp. Doxycycline is also recommended to control bacterial enteritis and to fight effects of stress due to vaccination and environmental factors.
Treatment: 22 gm / 200 liters of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
Prevention: 22 gm / 200 liters of drinking water for the first 3 days of chick life and repeat for 1-5 days at 4-5 weeks of age.
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption for a period of at least 5 days after the last treatment.
