Colistin is a polypeptide antibiotic which is the least toxic of the five
Antibiotics known as Polymyxins .
they are narrow spectrum antibiotics and bactericidal in action against Gram – negative organisms .
Colistin is poorly absorbed from the GI tract after oral administration, thus offering specific advantage in the treatment and control of GIT infections .
Indications:
Uve-Coliplus is indicated for the treatment of G.I.T infections caused by E.Coli, Salmonella and other gram negative bacteria susceptible to colistin in calves, lambs and poultry.
Dosage and administration:
Oral administration via drinking water.
Calves and lambs: 0.25 ml/10 kg, twice a day for 3 days with drinking water.
Poultry:0.25 ml/ L of drinking water daily for 3 days.
Withdrawal period:
-Meat and offal: 7 days.
- Eggs: None.
Storage:
Store at temperature below 30ºC, away from direct from sun light.
